this emoticon just wants a friend sorry if it looks skippy, i dont know why, it looked really smoth on photoshop paper is pixeled along with everything else
Hi, nice pixel animation ^_^ I'd experiment with the paper texture... Specifically, lightening the values and perhaps decreasing the overall contrast would give less of a "crumpled" paper look, unless you're going for a piece of paper that was recently crumpled and then unwrapped. I find my eyes drawn to the background texture more than I'd like, part of that being the "interesting" if unrealistic texture detail which doesn't accurately approximate what paper would look like. I get this is stylized pixel art but I still think you could study your source material and maybe learn to capture the essence better. Also, I don't know if it's a funny mistake, but one of the paper holes disappears when the character bounces into frame ;-D I hope you take all criticisms with a grain of salt, I have a degree in 3D animation, although oddly enough texturing/shaders (analogous when making a comparison to pixel art) were never my thing, but I was still taught to understand the importance of reference material and remaining faithful to that as much as possible. Actually, adding another layer with low opacity and some surface grit or fiber might suffice, but maybe you aren't going for a more realistic/faithful rendering, in which case rock on and disregard my comments
Thanks for the critique. I've just started to make pixel art, and animation, and I know about all the mistakes. In reality though, I just do this for fun and couldn't care less how perfect it turns out, as my real interest is in traditional art
Because I was lazy and I couldn't think if a way to make scissors without it being the top view of them, in which you wouldn't be able to figure out what they were. Thanks btw
Awesomeness!
but why didn't you make the scissors cutting it?
other than that it's awesome, it isn't skippy at all
I love how you made the paper.
